VIVIANE GINAPÉ

"From Richie Beirach to Dori Caymmi, warmth and magic reinforce a voice in constant research and full of emotion!…"

Viviane Ginapé, vocals

Michel Zenino, bass
Jean-Claude Montredon, drums

Born in Paris, Viviane Ginapé has been singing for as long as she can remember.
Her love for jazz, Viviane Ginapé owes to Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. Sarah Vaughan and Betty Carter also left a strong influence. Eric Dolphy, Tania Maria, Milton Nascimento and Richie Beirach added their touch to her musical palette via their Jazz and Latin musical styles.

Without a doubt, she is a jazz singer who gives a particular importance to words, be it in original lyrics or scat improvisation. Percussive, instrumental or spoken, Viviane's voice is totally invested in the present moment where she will dare to take all kinds of risks to the point that she even surprises herself while exploring the different colors and timbres of world-jazz!

More than an invitation to pleasure and poetry, the carribean-brasilian colors of Viviane Ginapé's music is also a mark of her cultural identity.
